I'm about to bless ya'll with not only the best vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe, but one of the best chocolate chip cookie recipes I've ever had. These thick and chewy vegan chocolate chip cookies are freaking amazing and yo wouldn't even be able to tell they are vegan.I'm gonna keep this short and sweet and just tell you to go make this ASAP. They are literally the perfect cookie, soft and chewy and think. You won't be able to tell they are vegan at all. Now I'm not saying these are "healthy" but I've found with baking you can't have it all if you want it to taste close to the real thing. So yes these cookies have real brown sugar and real flour, but no animal products!

So what's in these cookies then?

All the good stuff:

  • Flour

  • Baking soda and salt

  • Brown sugar

  • Oil (vegetable or canola will taste the best, BUT feel free to try these with other oils like a light olive oil or coconut oil. The flavor may change a tad)

  • Water

  • Vanilla

  • Chocolate Chips

Do I have to freeze them?

Yes! You have to! I know it's so annoying to wait for the dough to chill, but it's only 30 minutes and it will make the cookies stay thick and pretty. The dough is a little runny before you freeze them and I'm sure it would spread everywhere if you baked without freezing.

These last in an air tight container for 3-4 days. You can also make the dough balls and freeze them for whenever you want some cookies.Recipe adapted from Good Housekeeping.
