These homemade crunchwrap supremes taste just like the ones from Taco Bell and are so fun to make! They are actually pretty simple to put together. No mystery meat required ;) Ok let's be real for a second, I used to eat at Taco Bell allll the time in like middle school some in high school (but really McDonald's was my favorite in high school). The Mexican pizza and crunchwrap supreme no tomatoes were my go to's. I haven't eaten there in years, so I was really excited to make a homemade crunchwrap supreme. I'm assuming plenty of you guys would be excited to try this too!

You can get creative with what goes in your crunch wrap with things like salsa, guacamole or jalapeños, but here are the OG ingredients.

What you need

  • cooked seasoned ground beef (or turkey): I cooked and drained ground beef and then seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder and cumin. Feel free to use your favorite taco seasoning packet to make it easy!

  • beans (black or refried): I mixed a can of drained and rinsed black beans with the meat. I think the original has refried beans (maybe even no beans?), so use whichever you want.

  • extra large burrito tortilla: The extra large tortillas are big enough to fit everything you just need to pull the tortilla to stretch. Try not the break the tortilla, but it is ok if the tostada breaks inside.

  • tostadas: You can find these right next to the tortillas at the store.

  • queso or nacho cheese: I used white queso but you can use and nacho cheese dip. You can find both at the store.

  • shredded lettuce

  • diced tomatoes

  • shredded cheddar

Now that you have all the ingredients, you can make a homemade crunchwrap supreme! I suggest getting everything ready and lined up for ease. It’s okay if they don't look perfect! Some will be messier than others, some easier to fold. Just place the crunchwrap folded side down into a pan over medium heat with oil or butter. They take a couple minutes per side until they get golden brown. I hope guys like these homemade crunchwrap supremes and enjoy them for Cinco de Mayo coming up!

Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme

Homemade crunchwrap supremes taste just like the original!

  • 1.5 lb ground beef

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • 2 tsp chili powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 8 extra large burrito tortillas

  • 8 tostadas

  • 1 can drained and rinsed black beans

  • 1 head of romaine lettuce, shredded

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • nacho cheese or queso

  • sour cream

  1. Cook the ground beef, drain and then season with salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, garlic and onion. You can use your favorite taco seasoning packet instead.

  2. Add the black beans into the ground beef and mix together. Leave over low heat while you assemble the other ingredients.

  3. Start with a tortilla and place about 1/2 cup of meat into the center. Drizzle a couple tbsp of queso over the meat and place a tostada on top. Spread 1-2 tbsp of sour cream over the tostada. Top with lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. Fold all sides of the tortilla over the ingredients until no filling is showing and the tortilla sides are touching. It doesn't have to be perfect. It's okay if the tostada breaks.

  4. Heat a pan over medium heat with oil or butter. Place the crunchwrap folded side down and cook for 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Serve with your favorite toppings.
