GG's Brownies
Classic, better than the box brownie recipe from my GG! They are perfectly chocolatey brownies without being overly fudgey and rich. A perfect classic brownie recipe circa 1970 straight from my GG's recipe book. She made these for all of her siblings growing up and then her family once she had her own. My mom even told me she never had boxed brownies until she went to college! I hope you enjoy them!
GG's Brownies
Traditional crinkle top brownies studded with pecans.
4 beaten eggs
2 sticks of unsalted butter
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment and spray with nonstick spray.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate together over medium heat. Once the butter and chocolate are fully melted, stir in the sugar and take it off the heat. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and cool for 10-15 minutes.
Whisk in the beaten eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, salt, baking powder and pecans. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake the brownies for 45 minutes or until you stick a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing into them.
